Questions parents ask

Straight answers about ages, allergens, privacy, and what the game does (and never does). Anything missing? Ask us.

What ages is Harpaboo for?

Ages 2–12. The game adapts to your child: gentle, fully narrated play with big touch targets for ages 2–4, and longer, more challenging rounds from age 5 up.

Which allergens does it cover?

13 allergens: all of the Big 9 — milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, gluten, fish, shellfish, and sesame — plus celery, mustard, lupin, and sunflower seeds. You can also mark any individual food safe or unsafe for your child, and the game follows your call.

Is it really 100% offline?

Yes. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and the app never connects to a server we operate. The only way data leaves your device is your own iCloud device backup, under your control.

What about my child’s data?

We store an age range, a first name or nickname, and the allergen profile you set up — all only on your device. We never see it. See the privacy policy.

What does it cost?

Harpaboo is free.

What is Sibling Mode?

Brothers and sisters play as helpers, practicing which foods are safe for their sibling. Allergy safety works better when the whole family can spot trouble.

What if the game is wrong about a specific food for my child?

You decide. In the PIN-protected parent area you can mark any individual food as safe or unsafe for your child, and the game follows your call.

Is this medical advice?

No. Harpaboo is an educational game and never tells a child a food is “safe to eat” — it teaches them to check with an adult. Always follow your medical team’s guidance. See the medical disclaimer.

When does it launch?

Harpaboo is in closed family beta now and expected on the App Store in July 2026. Leave your email and we’ll tell you the moment it’s out.

iPhone or iPad?

Both. iPad is wonderful for little hands; iPhone means it’s always in your pocket at the restaurant.
